The studio rules, in plain language
Studio policies.
To provide a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone at Elira Pilates, we ask all clients to review and follow the policies below. By booking or participating in a class or service, you acknowledge and agree to follow them.
Grip Socks
- Grip socks are required for all Reformer Pilates classes for safety and hygiene.
- Clients without grip socks will be required to purchase a pair before participating.
- Regular socks are not permitted on the reformers.
Class Minimums and Schedule Changes
- Elira Pilates reserves the right to cancel or combine classes due to low enrollment, instructor illness, emergencies or circumstances outside the studio's control.
- When Elira Pilates cancels a class, the applicable class credit will be returned to the client's account.
Late Cancellation Policy
- Classes must be cancelled at least 6 hours before the scheduled class time.
- Cancellations made within 6 hours of the class are considered late cancellations and are subject to a $15 +HST late cancellation fee.
- Applicable class credits may also be forfeited in accordance with the client's package or membership terms.
No-Show Policy
- Clients who do not attend a booked class without cancelling are subject to a $15 +HST no-show fee.
- The applicable class credit may also be forfeited.
Arrival and Late Entry
- Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes before class to allow time to check in and get settled.
- For safety reasons, clients arriving after class has begun may not be permitted to participate.
- Late arrival does not qualify for a refund or credit.
Clients Under 18
- Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete and sign the required waiver in person before participating in any Elira Pilates class or wellness service.
- Minors will not be permitted to participate until the required consent has been completed.
Code of Conduct
Elira Pilates is committed to maintaining a positive, inclusive, professional and welcoming environment. Clients are expected to:
- Treat instructors, staff and other clients with kindness and respect.
- Follow instructor directions and all studio safety procedures.
- Respect personal boundaries and the privacy of others.
- Use studio equipment and facilities appropriately.
- Refrain from disruptive, threatening, discriminatory, harassing or inappropriate behaviour.
Elira Pilates reserves the right to ask anyone engaging in inappropriate or unsafe behaviour to leave the premises and may suspend or terminate booking privileges when necessary.
Respect and Inclusivity
- Elira Pilates welcomes clients of all backgrounds, identities, abilities and fitness levels.
- Harassment, bullying, discrimination, intimidation or disrespectful behaviour toward another client or team member will not be tolerated.
- Please be mindful that everyone is at a different stage of their wellness journey.
Phones, Photography and Privacy
- Phones should be silenced during classes.
- Photography or video recording during class should not interfere with the instructor or other clients.
- Please do not photograph or record another client without their permission.
- Instructors may ask that phones be put away when necessary for safety or privacy.
Health and Safety
Clients are responsible for informing their instructor of any injuries, pregnancy, physical limitations or other circumstances that may affect their ability to safely participate.
- Clients should follow all modifications and safety instructions provided by their instructor.
- If you feel dizzy, unwell, faint or experience unusual pain, stop exercising and notify your instructor immediately.
- Clients should not participate while under the influence of alcohol, cannabis or any substance that may impair their ability to exercise safely.
Illness
Please do not attend the studio if you are experiencing a contagious illness, fever, vomiting or other symptoms that could put other clients or staff at risk.
Equipment and Studio Care
- Please treat reformers, props, lockers and all studio amenities with care.
- Follow instructor directions when adjusting or using equipment.
- Clients may be responsible for damage caused by intentional misuse or reckless behaviour.
- Please return equipment and props to their designated areas after use.
Personal Belongings
- Lockers are available for personal belongings.
- Elira Pilates is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal items.
- Please ensure lockers are secured and take all belongings with you when leaving.
Booking Policy
- Each client must have their own account and book under their own name.
- Bookings may not be transferred or shared between clients unless expressly permitted by Elira Pilates.
- Memberships and class packages are for the registered client's use only unless otherwise stated.
Waitlist
Clients who join a waitlist are responsible for monitoring their booking status. If a client is moved from the waitlist into the class, the regular cancellation and no-show policies apply once the booking is confirmed.
Memberships and Packages
- Memberships, passes and promotional offers are subject to their individual terms, expiration dates and booking restrictions.
- Memberships and packages are non-transferable unless otherwise specified.
- Promotional and introductory offers may be limited to one per eligible client.
Cleanliness and Studio Etiquette
- Outdoor footwear should be removed before entering designated studio areas.
- Please leave equipment and shared spaces clean and ready for the next client.
- Food is not permitted in workout areas unless approved by Elira Pilates.
- Please respect classes in progress by keeping noise to a minimum.
Right to Refuse Participation
For the safety and comfort of our community, Elira Pilates reserves the right to refuse or discontinue participation when a client's behaviour, health condition, intoxication, failure to follow safety instructions or other circumstances create a reasonable safety concern.
Policy Updates
Elira Pilates reserves the right to update studio policies, schedules, fees and procedures when necessary. Current policies will be communicated through the studio, booking platform, website or other appropriate channels.
